Pros

- True startup environment complete with pivots, fast iterations, and standup meetings. Coffee, snacks, Patagonia swag. - Great training grounds for future entrepreneurs. This SAAS startup isn't trying to create a new crypto currency or "Uber for (insert whatever niche here)". They have found their core customers, which happens to be the very service professionals that live next door to you. The smaller guys. And the company executes on bringing value to these guys like no other. You will get to witness all the silicon valley buzz words in realtime. - Selling this software is a breeze because it is quite literally the best in the market. Basically get paid $$$ to brag and educate all day. - MONEY. Get paid to perform.

Cons

- Like all startups, growth is a huge priority and deadlines can often add pressure to an already high pressure job. - Can often feel repetitive, while the pay is great it can feel a bit tedious at times - The company runs at a breakneck speed at all times. Your first two weeks will feel like a month's worth of experience and you will have months fly by. It is intense to say the least. I must have aged 5 years in the two I spent here Basically, if you are looking for a relaxed/passive and more laid back job, save yourself the effort of applying. If you are confident in your ability to sell and are looking for massive amounts of startup/SAAS experience this may be place you.

Start-ups are an intense environment, not for the faint of heart, and Housecall Pro runs faster than most. As I think about the extraordinary events of the last two weeks as Covid19 has ravaged America, I consider us incredibly fortunate that we have this culture of operating at breakneck speed. It has served us in our ability to support our Pros in this challenging time, to support our people and to keep them safe and to make sure that even in arduous times, we will not only get by, that we will manage to thrive.

Pros

Great people below executive level that want to do their best work. Full remote work. Working with customers that actually make a difference in the world.

Cons

Hustle culture without the hustle pay. Way below market salary but executives expect top company output. Fear based. Executives pivot every week, if not multiple times a day and it creates immense thrash. CTO is completely disconnected from day to day work, talks in abstract most of the time, and when they do mention something about actual work, it's completely disconnected from the reality of people doing the work. Top talent has been steadily leaving the company. Process is whatever the executives decide that week. The current product is mediocre at best and most attempts from talented people to make it better either are ignored or when agreed upon, the rug gets pulled out from underneath a couple months later when the executives get cold feet. If you want to work at a company and make a difference, this is not the place to do it. Promotions and pay increases are non-existent unless you work 14+ hour days, amplify whatever the current executive flavor of the week is, and put your head down and just execute on someone else's poorly planned ideas. Everyone is pretty miserable currently and most people are only still there because the current job market is not great.

We're sorry aspects of your experience haven't reflected what we strive for, particularly around compensation and direction consistency. How pay aligns with expectations and how strategic shifts are communicated are concerns we want to understand better. We'd love to hear more; please reach out to your manager, the People Team, or any senior leader you're comfortable speaking with. -Housecall Pro People Team
