Pros

Was a great place to work until they laid off 60+ just like that.

Cons

You get up and work hard every day. You focus on the company and give it your all. You're proud of your work. You do everything you can to contribute and put the pro's first. Then, out of no where, they fire an entire division. Just like that, everyone is gone. They didn't give anyone time to say goodbyes, they cut the cord in a matter of minutes. I would stay away. The upper management needs a total cleanse. It's funny because they act like they care about their employees. During town hall's they celebrate work anniversaries and accomplishments, that's obviously just a theatre act because your job isn't safe regardless of how long you've worked there.

Housecall Pro Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, and for all your hard work while you were with Housecall Pro. Org changes are never easy and I’m sure it can feel like they are happening quickly. However, I can assure you that thought and care went into the decision as well as the communication to those impacted. This work allowed us to find other roles for the majority of the 60 employees; unfortunately we did not have roles available for everyone. We know as a company, we are only as good as our people; we care for all who work here and decisions regarding employment are never made lightly. I am sorry that you were impacted, and wish you the best in your future endeavors.- Sam Kanner, SVP, People

Pros

Great people below executive level that want to do their best work. Full remote work. Working with customers that actually make a difference in the world.

Cons

Hustle culture without the hustle pay. Way below market salary but executives expect top company output. Fear based. Executives pivot every week, if not multiple times a day and it creates immense thrash. CTO is completely disconnected from day to day work, talks in abstract most of the time, and when they do mention something about actual work, it's completely disconnected from the reality of people doing the work. Top talent has been steadily leaving the company. Process is whatever the executives decide that week. The current product is mediocre at best and most attempts from talented people to make it better either are ignored or when agreed upon, the rug gets pulled out from underneath a couple months later when the executives get cold feet. If you want to work at a company and make a difference, this is not the place to do it. Promotions and pay increases are non-existent unless you work 14+ hour days, amplify whatever the current executive flavor of the week is, and put your head down and just execute on someone else's poorly planned ideas. Everyone is pretty miserable currently and most people are only still there because the current job market is not great.
