Pros
HISD has many opportunities for growth as long as you are willing to deal with the BS of being a teacher.
Cons
There is so much paperwork, so many PLC meetings none of which are learning opportunities at all. If anything, they are merely another way to beat teachers over the head. Be prepared to purchase your own supplies.
