The transition to Workday is a welcome modernization that brings the organization more in line with other large health systems.

Cons

the work-life balance for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) needs significant improvement. The criteria for earning administrative time place unrealistic expectations on APPs, making it difficult to achieve a sustainable workload. It is especially discouraging to work alongside physicians who have more attainable criteria for protected administrative time, creating a sense of inequity that negatively impacts morale. Additionally, there is little flexibility in scheduling. Offering 0.8 or 0.6 FTE positions would help retain experienced APPs who want to continue providing high-quality patient care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
