Pros

For the most part, METRO attracts employees who are motivated to provide service for the greater good of the community. METRO is a non profit entitty and the salaries reflect that. Long tenure is the norm.

Cons

Aging workforce results in fewer opportunities to retain and promote younger workers. Very Political. Constant change in management everytime a new Mayor is elected. Special interests of political entities often determine METRO's direction.

Pros

Working in a large government facility. Pay was pretty good.

Cons

Catty behavior from main superiors. They act like high school mean girls. Between their attitudes and ignorance, it was impossible to learn anything from them. HR treated college interns like elementary school children. It felt more like a field trip chaperoned by micromanaging kindergarten teachers than an internship for adults. They also can't seem to communicate without a big Barney smile plastered on their faces, no matter what the topic is. "Metro is so great," reminders every step of the way.
