Yearly tool/ uniform allowance Good insurance for a good price Union 50,000 standard company paid Life Insurance PTO for your birthday and "first day of work birthday"

Cons

Because it's Union it's hard to fire people (good for you) which means sometimes people who should be fired are not (not good for you). Working with bad tempered/incompetent people can be a pain sometimes but I guess that's life.

Working in a large government facility. Pay was pretty good.

Cons

Catty behavior from main superiors. They act like high school mean girls. Between their attitudes and ignorance, it was impossible to learn anything from them. HR treated college interns like elementary school children. It felt more like a field trip chaperoned by micromanaging kindergarten teachers than an internship for adults. They also can't seem to communicate without a big Barney smile plastered on their faces, no matter what the topic is. "Metro is so great," reminders every step of the way.
