Pros

Good pay but could be better. The union is getting better and trying to make a difference, but metro controls everything no matter what.

Cons

Upper management is unreasonable, and lies. Vacation almost doesn't exist. Overtime is on and off. Benefits are not that great. The company still uses paper forms and you can't use any electronics even if it makes your job easier. More worried about punishing the mechanics then working with them and giving a helping hand. This company needs a major face lift starting all the way at the top. I have had negative encounters even with human resources, they care more about the company than the employees who make it. It's an environment where you must know somebody very high up the chain so you aren't in fear of losing your job. Imagine micromangement but on steroids. Random urinalysis that dont seem so random. Doing things repeatedly because paper work was lost. The list goes on and on and on and on and on and on

Pros

Working in a large government facility. Pay was pretty good.

Cons

Catty behavior from main superiors. They act like high school mean girls. Between their attitudes and ignorance, it was impossible to learn anything from them. HR treated college interns like elementary school children. It felt more like a field trip chaperoned by micromanaging kindergarten teachers than an internship for adults. They also can't seem to communicate without a big Barney smile plastered on their faces, no matter what the topic is. "Metro is so great," reminders every step of the way.
