Pros

If you’re on great team, they’re super supportive and very helpful

Cons

Management in Procurement creates hostile work environment, no chance of going higher in position if one of their friends wants job, with little experience they will be hired. HR is good friends with the assistant Director so they are no assistance 15 employees have left in the last year. Turnover rate has gotten very high because it is so hostile. They claim to have an open door policy, but if you are not good friends with them, they’ll make life hard for you if you bring up legal issues relating to contracts and vendors.

Pros

Working in a large government facility. Pay was pretty good.

Cons

Catty behavior from main superiors. They act like high school mean girls. Between their attitudes and ignorance, it was impossible to learn anything from them. HR treated college interns like elementary school children. It felt more like a field trip chaperoned by micromanaging kindergarten teachers than an internship for adults. They also can't seem to communicate without a big Barney smile plastered on their faces, no matter what the topic is. "Metro is so great," reminders every step of the way.
