Pros

The ultimate awesome mega startup to work for this company has had 4 rounds of massive investment led by Sequoia in the last round pre IPO valuation at $2.3 billion and very well funded they are going places and going places BIG. Even more important - the people - the nicest most awesome bunch of people you will ever meet - brilliantly smart, caring and a wish to really make a difference. Completely non political. The absolute opposite. From top level down. Approachable founders, the most amazing food every evening served at 6pm with leftovers the next day :-), plenty of snacks healthy and non with fruits, awesome teas coffee, everything is Mac, cool meeting rooms, and a brilliant engineering team. The business model ensures this isn't a fly by night it's a long term business solving a real dilemma where no one has really delivered anything demonstrable till Houzz. Expansion globally means great eclectic mix of folks and an opportunity to learn from other folks in other countries. Situated at the heart of Silicon Valley in Palo Alto it's only a stroll to Caltrain to downtown SF or surrounding areas. If you were tepid or not sure about joining - don't think twice if u get offered a job take it - they are picky and care about culture and hiring the right people. Free lunch on Fridays and they celebrate your birthday with a special surprise :-) and everyone is SUPER nice.

Cons

Palo Alto rents aren't cheap. It perhaps won't suit someone who wants heaps and heaps of structure and being told what to do if that's what you are looking for. It's a can do let's make it happen attitude.

Pros

Coworkers are super cool and great to work with. Role is remote.

Cons

Fake, cheesy culture and micromanagement with monotonous internal meetings. AE company meetings feel like a time waste with redundant material coverage and group activity work. Managers will message you if you go 10-15 minutes without making a call. It feels like you're working in a demoralizing call center. Tech stack and CRM are disconnected, outdated, and constantly glitch, preventing productivity and conversation tracking. Reporting is also archaic and not customizable. You're working ~9 hour days with below average pay, and will be encouraged to work Saturdays and be a "weekend warrior!” You are expected to make 600+ cold calls weekly and average 2 hours of talk time daily. If you have PTO planned, managers will ask that you raise your call and talk time volume to compensate for your time off. The calls you're making are from a list of old leads that are either no longer in business, have a terrible past experience with Houzz (please do your research on Houzz - they have ripped off many businesses and provide subpar customer service), rarely show up for your meetings, or have zero budget and "owe money to the IRS." Outreach doesn't feel strategic. From those leads, you're expected to hold ~3 demos daily. This is not a sustainable place for a career, and frankly a waste of your time.
