Pros

There is an apparent sense of family. Most people care about the patients and work hard to provide the best quality care. The rich history and legacy of the organization is very attractive and a motivator to be apart of its future growth and success.

Cons

There is no system to provide merit based raises nor regular performance evaluations/feedback. Constant leadership change and lack of transparency creates an environment of job insecurity.

Pros

Opportunity to mentor and support students as they learn technical concepts. Flexible schedule that worked well alongside coursework. Developed communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Collaborated with faculty and other TAs in a supportive environment. Gained hands-on experience explaining complex topics to students with different learning styles. Rewarding to see students improve and succeed throughout the semester.

Cons

Workload can fluctuate significantly around assignment deadlines and exams. Balancing TA responsibilities with personal coursework can be challenging. Limited influence over course policies and curriculum decisions. Some tasks can be repetitive, such as grading or answering similar questions. Compensation may not always reflect the time commitment during busy periods. Communication between instructors, TAs, and students can occasionally be inconsistent.
