Pros

- smart and friendly people - interesting work - ample opportunity to grow - autonomous teams are agile and fight bloat - personal boundaries for work-life harmony are respected - leadership is genuine when encouraging employees to take time off and recharge - unlimited vacation/PTO - use good judgement - flexibility to work remote is awesome - key job-critical tools are all in the cloud, meaning I can work from different computers if necessary, which makes the work-remote perk even more reliable - conference rooms with Zoom are PURE MAGIC and really make it easier to connect with colleages in different offices globally - really excellent healthcare plan - Cambridge office is gorgeous

Cons

- work-life harmony doesn't just happen, HubSpot is full of go-getters so of course the momentum is to get stuff done; that being said, when you make a clear boundary, people warmly respect it! - pro tip, unlimited vacation means that you can't get paid for unused days if you were to transition to another company, so, better make good use of them! :)

First things first, this is an outstanding title for a review, and sounds like it could be a Broadway play OR a Glassdoor review, which is impressive, so kudos to you for your descriptive title and thoughtful review. I appreciate your feedback, candor, advice on taking vacation (I agree people should use it!), and your note on the tension of autonomy as we grow being worth it. Thank you for helping us grow better operationally as we scale, and for taking the time to share this, I really appreciate it! -Katie

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
