      Pros

      - get to work with really smart people - amazing trajectory of company and product growth - really well positioned product in the market and A LOT of amazing brand recognition/trust - fun outings

      Cons

      If you aren't a passionate liberal you will be looked at like a freak. The best part of America is that (compared with other countries) we can freely have differing opinions and still be respected. Not. At. HubSpot. Anything that is a typical viewpoint of a conservative is NOT OKAY. The company preaches acceptance but really it's only if you agree with them. It is absolutely, incredibly important to have a diverse workforce but if you alienate regular white guys it's just as bad as alienating any other group. All I want is a place where everyone's viewpoint can be respected. If it were up to me politics would have no place in the workforce at all but HubSpot does not share this sentiment.

      Sorry to hear you feel that way, and thanks for the feedback. The reality is we spend a lot of time making HubSpot a best place to work for everyone to do their best work--unfortunately, although we've been on a DI&B journey for several years, we haven't made enough incremental progress or change to be a truly best place to work for under-represented minorities within the company. So yes, you're absolutely right we are spending a lot of time getting that right, but I'm a big believer that the fight for equity and inclusion creates a better workplace for everyone, and that our long-term bets will ensure that's the case. Respect and empathy are cornerstones of our workplace, and we respect many different political views, but I think we can do that and still be really clear that we can and should do more on diversity and inclusion-I don't view those two things as at odds with one another.       Pros

      The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

      Cons

      Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
