Pros

I've loved every year working here, each year brings new challenges and opportunities, and I owe a lot of that to the team that I am on. This product is amazing, and the people working on it are truly very talented. Unlimited PTO is conducive to my team. Remote model works pretty well with my team's structure, we were small/global/mostly remote pre-pandemic. Working on a niche team allows us a lot of flexibility and access to explore ideas on our services, output, and tooling, and ultimately, enact visible change. The niche team also permits us our autonomy that HubSpot prides itself on. Personally have seen extraordinary career growth and can see a long term career here. Each day I log in excited because I know I will have a new challenge to solve or question to answer. New product update to learn about, or new escalation to try and resolve. I think this can apply to any team. Benefits and stock options have been solid! Wish comp was more balanced, and some of the salary transparency measures put into place only really felt like half-measures.

Cons

Career growth opportunities do not seem universal and competition (depending on department and landing position) varies. Unlimited PTO is not universally conducive. Neither is the autonomy. HEART Culture is not as much as I was sold on nowadays. I was hired a few months pre-covid. I just got nearly a taste of what it was like. Miss those days honestly. I understand c-suite is working on it, I hope there are more things in motion. I've met some fabulous people remotely. I've also gotten a taste of what sometimes feels like aggression via online messages, as noted by other reviews as well. ultimately they are doing so for the end goal of solving for the customer, so I get it. But, we do NOT need to be that rigid about it. I do not think this speaks for a majority, or even a large minority, but a big enough amount where it's worth noting. Layoff season has been super tough with high expectations still set for teams across all pillars. Those expectations vary, and you should be able to tell from the recent reviews which pillars are struggling the most based on current trends. Everyone is stressed and morale is evidently low. Lots of bottlenecking for no real reason. Our internal systems for Success and Services are... not up to par. Antiquated KPI metrics give reps a frustrating experience when they feel they are leveraging many tools to activate, but the metric model doesn't measure to that depth. Many positions are not paid according to industry standard

Thanks for your feedback and for being part of our pro services team. Definitely open to being pushed on ways in which we as a team could show more tangible action on feedback--I acknowledge the layoffs were really hard and tough on a number of levels, but I'm hopeful we can rebuild trust and empathy and open to ideas and input on how we best get there together. Sincerely, Katie

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
