Pros

401K match, lenient on you if you need to get something done during a workday

Cons

Specifically, Reelz Channel has become the least efficient place I’ve ever worked. You'll need to stay updated with the best practices in this industry on your own merit. When you need your managers during tough weeks, they are somehow never here. You must constantly remind them what is PC and neutral enough to air on national television. Staff was slashed so much that an entire network is run by a few people, so if you like having the responsibility of multiple jobs (at least 4 jobs) but a low title and lower pay, you will LOVE it here. There will be no training for the work you do here (it is constantly changing due to the nature of the industry); you must learn on the fly. You might have to work weekends for the live show. No growth or higher title for this role and linear TV is dying. The ratings have been low lately, and I don’t see a way out of it based on the current decisions made by higher ups. If you’re truly good at whatever you do and they somehow offer you pay on par with the cost of living, you’ll quickly become frustrated with how things are run by everyone above you, and there is never any meaningful change. You will be ignored for anything that goes against what your managers want, whether that's in creative or workplace efficacy. Creative micromanagement is a must for them. The benefits are at best the bare minimum, and there are no incentives or employee retention strategies. The work environment is extremely toxic; prepare to be thrown under the bus. You are required to come into the office every day; they do not want hybrid employees. There are no rewards or recognition. There's no traveling to industry conventions or production studios/shoots. The online training and development they offer is generic and irrelevant because you can't use it to level up here. No one here is happy. With respect to the company, it didn't used to be this way; a lot of bad choices were made to get to this point. Beware.

Pros

Great cross-team training. Professional and friendly working environment.

Cons

Low pay. The chance of becoming a full timer can depend on circumstances and "luck". Some people can be very unprofessional and rude.
