Pros

Training is good depending on the department. Dining choices are second to none in the larger offices. If you are an associate that travels on business, the daily per deim you have is better than most. The front line customer facing associates are some of the best people, I enjoyed working with them in many different locations. The products they offer to consumers are really good plans. Good pay, good vacation policy. I thought at one time I would retire from Humana.

Cons

How can someone who has gotten excellent top notch yearly reviews, met production standards, been the star of the team be terminated? Fall out of favor with the political in-crowd for standing up for yourself and what was right. I am not a brown-noser and I refused to play the politics game and lost. HR won't investigate complaints against management and when they do it is a token investigation. It is pretty sad when your manager can't perform the job they manage, yet they get sent on leadership summits, and development trips etc. Nothing from those trips benefits the front line employees. Yet all the while on their Facebook page you see they were posting pool side at 1:00 in the afternoon on a workday when you know the conference is going on. Your co-workers on the same level as you will talk one way (oh yeah its bad we need to work together for a change yada yada) but when it is time for a team meeting everyone is quiet out of fear of stirring the water. The benefits for employees are not great, but in Humana's defense, most employers are cutting the benefits they offer to associates to cut costs. When someone does bring a problem forward management tells you what they think you want to hear just to keep you quiet.

Pros

Working from home, that’s about it.

Cons

Micromanaging, forced to help team members while you’re behind on your own caseload. Denied PTO requests, no PTO all summer and no PTO until the end of January 2027 (that’s supposed supposedly when they will be done ramping up with all their new employees.) a bunch of meetings weekly that are pointless. A weekly case conference where they are forcing nurses to present a complex case in front of over 300 people on zoom. Process changes change constantly, there are no job aid or guideline that help you make a Clinical decision but you will get out of it if you do it incorrectly. Save yourself the trouble and apply somewhere else. It is not worth it.
