Pros

Flexible schedules, work-at-home opportunities, 40-hr workweeks, innovative health care products and wellness programs, decent benefits package when compared to other health care employers, especially hospitals

Cons

Constant monitoring of telephone conversations, micromanagement by front line leaders, low-level assignments after years of employment, lack of growth opportunity for work-at-home employees, repetitive tasks assigned to employees with bachelor's degrees or higher, a culture of secrecy regarding corporate strategy and departmental initiatives; bait-and-switch tactics with regard to hiring practices (Humana will hire you for a specific job--for which you will reject other opportunities--then after you are committed and on board for a few months, Humana will change your position and responsibilities and even move you to another department or simply add duties to the job you agreed to)
