Pros

Decent pay and benefits. Work from home. No exposure to Covid. Coworkers are nice.

Cons

HCO Culture has declined since restructuring and departure of a well respected MD leader. High deductible health plan . Workload keeps increasing with a level of stress that will make you physically and mentally ill. No regard for the members we serve. Management is unappreciative and will take credit for their employee’s work and accomplishments. Management is incompetent, gets their knowledge and answers from a few knowledgeable employees. Management cares more about their side jobs and socializing than doing any work. No chance for advancement if you’re over 45, unless you’re sleeping with your boss or bosses boss. You’ll work your butt off for no thanks and will be treated like you’re a complete moron while someone else steals your ideas and good work and pass off as their own. Humana used to be a good place to work but not so much any more.

Cons

Legacy technology and corporate structures still create friction, but improving.

Pros

Working from home, that’s about it.

Cons

Micromanaging, forced to help team members while you’re behind on your own caseload. Denied PTO requests, no PTO all summer and no PTO until the end of January 2027 (that’s supposed supposedly when they will be done ramping up with all their new employees.) a bunch of meetings weekly that are pointless. A weekly case conference where they are forcing nurses to present a complex case in front of over 300 people on zoom. Process changes change constantly, there are no job aid or guideline that help you make a Clinical decision but you will get out of it if you do it incorrectly. Save yourself the trouble and apply somewhere else. It is not worth it.
