Pros

I came to Humana through M&A. I was doing what I loved. I was with people I loved. The company had a purpose, and during this volatile time, I was a big part of the solution. I was trusted and every level of the company could and would ring the phone. It is a big company. The doors were always open.

Cons

There was a bad hire who became my leader. I couldn't get help from HR. It turned ugly and my dream ended abruptly. If they want you out, they will set you up to get you out. I've seen it done to others and this time - it was me. I went from an employee of great value to loser in 3 months. That leader was also gone less than a month after I was. This may be VERY isolated, but it is not the only case. There are more great, not good, but great leaders with Humana. It is the bad side that can be devastating. Beware.

Pros

Working from home, that’s about it.

Cons

Micromanaging, forced to help team members while you’re behind on your own caseload. Denied PTO requests, no PTO all summer and no PTO until the end of January 2027 (that’s supposed supposedly when they will be done ramping up with all their new employees.) a bunch of meetings weekly that are pointless. A weekly case conference where they are forcing nurses to present a complex case in front of over 300 people on zoom. Process changes change constantly, there are no job aid or guideline that help you make a Clinical decision but you will get out of it if you do it incorrectly. Save yourself the trouble and apply somewhere else. It is not worth it.
