Pros

Hy-Vee is an okay place to work full time. There is a good benefits package (health, vision, dental, 401k w/ company match, life and disability insurance). There is a great sense of teamwork among peers (especially people in the same position as me). I have made some of the best friends working there. There is a quarterly bonus that is calculated as a percentage of your gross earnings from the quarter. The percentage is decided based on sales for that quarter. So, be ready to focus on money, money, money!

Cons

I have found, at my particular store, that if you're not part of the right "clique" your hard work may go unnoticed. Upper management wants to be bosses, not leaders. Often times I felt that I was given little or no support when I faced a challenge. We are often short staffed due to management/corporate trying to boost profits.

Pros

I really enjoyed my coworkers and the management of the store. There were a handful of people who worked there at the time who weren't necessarily my favorite, but overall the team was good.

Cons

There we no significant cons. The pay is not the highest, but these are mainly entry level jobs.

Pros

Hy-Vee is a great company that truly cares about the communities we serve. Our 14 fundamentals drive both the customer and employee experience, guiding how we treat and serve our customers and each other. Leadership actively seeks employee feedback and uses it to drive meaningful change across all locations. There is a wide variety of jobs and career opportunities in many different areas of the company from retail to supply chain, IT, marketing, and so many more. obust employee benefits include tuition assistance for degrees, certifications, and foundational learning at little to no cost to employees, and the company focuses on promoting from within for most leadership roles.

Cons

As a 24/7 retail business, scheduling can be demanding in some roles — though the variety of positions means there's flexibility to find the right fit. With a large, decentralized workforce spread across hundreds of locations, consistent employee communication is an ongoing area of focus and improvement.
