Pros

Very dedicated and loyal employees who love the company. Good health benefits and retirement.

Cons

The CEO who took over a year and a half ago is ruining a great company. Over 80 years of being a customer service oriented company by taking care of its people is gone, we are losing our culture. Nepotism is rampant, promotions are primarily given to those who are 'connected' or related. The CEO doesn't care that morale is at an all time low, people are afraid for their jobs, afraid to do the right thing and employees believe he will be the downfall of the company. Unfortunately, he has created an environment where no one will tell him the truth for fear of termination (because people have been fired for speaking up). Employees believe he is ruling by creating fear because he can't handle the pressures of his own job and by creating fear, it detracts from his own inabilities. It is very sad to watch the deterioration of a fantastic company because its leader is so insecure.

Pros

I really enjoyed my coworkers and the management of the store. There were a handful of people who worked there at the time who weren't necessarily my favorite, but overall the team was good.

Cons

There we no significant cons. The pay is not the highest, but these are mainly entry level jobs.

Pros

Hy-Vee is a great company that truly cares about the communities we serve. Our 14 fundamentals drive both the customer and employee experience, guiding how we treat and serve our customers and each other. Leadership actively seeks employee feedback and uses it to drive meaningful change across all locations. There is a wide variety of jobs and career opportunities in many different areas of the company from retail to supply chain, IT, marketing, and so many more. obust employee benefits include tuition assistance for degrees, certifications, and foundational learning at little to no cost to employees, and the company focuses on promoting from within for most leadership roles.

Cons

As a 24/7 retail business, scheduling can be demanding in some roles — though the variety of positions means there's flexibility to find the right fit. With a large, decentralized workforce spread across hundreds of locations, consistent employee communication is an ongoing area of focus and improvement.
