Pros

Higher pay for a warehouse job

Cons

You are timed from the moment you get in there and they steal from you every chance they get so they can force you to pull higher to get more product out even faster while also stealing from your incentive (the time they will pay you every few months for all time time you save, you have to save and hour and half just to get paid an hour). They cant keep people employed because of how they treat their own employees and it is part of their business plan to do it that way. Your always being timed till you leave and they are always stealing/sabotaging that time to get more product out and to steal from your incentive time they promise to pay you if you save them an hour and half of time to pay you only 1 hour. They are the only ones who over see the system that controls times for orders so no way to double check or properly call them out when they are horribly adjusting the rates daily, your rate drops 20 to 40% out of no where unexplained, or throw away your delay time requests without explanation. The list goes on and on. They have a monopoly on a small town of being the highest paid place to work without going to Des Moines and still they cant keep people

Pros

You get to constantly move around the store thru the different departments. Depending on the hours you work you can potentially learn how to do little things within each department, for example the deli or meat counters, which in turn opens an opportunity to get additional hours if needed when AOL doesn't have the business to keep all the shoppers shopping. Hyvee was always very good about giving you the opportunity to help in other areas of the store if your department was lacking hours or business to give you the full 40 for your work week.

Cons

The management/ chain of command often gets a little confusing as you have department managers, assiant managers, general mangers and a director. Often times I felt as if assiant managers sometimes gave different directions then the department manager would give almost condescending what you were told from your direct manager, but would fail to communicate with the department manager this info, causing conflict with employees being told to do it one way and then also getting asked why things were done that way after being trained to do it another way. Basically no communication by your assiant to the department manager causing internal conflict.
