      Pros

      HST office is great to work from. Friendly employee amenities and on-site food make it easy to work all day from that location.

      Cons

      Leadership at Hy-Vee has no idea what they're working toward. Projects will be announced, revised, and removed in a matter of weeks. I can't tell you the amount of work and energy the marketing employees put into things that never saw the light of day. So much wasted effort, resources and money–it's disheartening knowing all the really cool things that could be accomplished with that scale and budget, but there's absolutely no directive or leadership to get there.

Leadership actively seeks employee feedback and uses it to drive meaningful change across all locations. There is a wide variety of jobs and career opportunities in many different areas of the company from retail to supply chain, IT, marketing, and so many more. obust employee benefits include tuition assistance for degrees, certifications, and foundational learning at little to no cost to employees, and the company focuses on promoting from within for most leadership roles.

      Cons

      As a 24/7 retail business, scheduling can be demanding in some roles — though the variety of positions means there's flexibility to find the right fit. With a large, decentralized workforce spread across hundreds of locations, consistent employee communication is an ongoing area of focus and improvement.
