Pros

Coming from a large publicly held business, it's refreshing to work for a privately held business. The ownership is aggressive in growing the business while making sure overall stability is not lost. You are allowed a large degree of freedom to make decisions that will improve your area of focus if you choose. Comp and benefits are good. Executive leadership really cares about their employees and will pursue all avenues to allow individuals to succeed.

Cons

These are insignificant and more like areas of opportunity to improve. 1) Willingness to accept new IT systems is slow. This may create problems as more millennials join the company. 2) Too much of a good thing can become a liability. There are a handful of employees in critical roles whose underwhelming performance is tolerated due to seniority or personal relationships. This prevents the business from achieving its true potential.

Pros

The people that I worked with.

Cons

Lacked support for employees. Upper management and corporate people did not really care about the way employees were trained or treated. Investment in new systems made workflows and processes harder or longer.
