Pros

Upper management good, and top class, salary generous with profit share etc, they try to care about you.

Cons

Middle and lower management weak and often spend their entire working lives in pointless meetings where no clear consensus is derived, no minutes and no accountability. There are vast swathes of people who would usually have been fired or let go - but because we’re Hypertherm we can’t possibly get rid of them. This puts a lot of pressure on top performing associates - who have limited upward mobility because- 1) they are the ones who keep the lights on and we can’t risk promoting them and 2) they often have to pick up the slack from their inept colleagues who we can’t get rid of. There is also a culture of arrogance- especially where qualifications are concerned- someone without a degree can’t possibly do that job kind of thing which is very frustrating.

Pros

Profit sharing is nice if we get it.

Cons

Hypertherm broke two federal laws and put me on a discipline program for a protected activity. After I successfully completed this discipline program I went to human resources with concerns I had. I also reported sexual harassment at one point. Hypertherm fired me for reporting sexual harassment. That's the second federal law they broke. Reporting harassment is a protected activity according to the EEOC
