Pros

- Good staff, fun friendly people - Coffee, Snacks, kegs for Friday

Cons

- Completely 'hands off' remote CEO & C levels - hear from CEO once a quarter for his talk from the pulpit about how great a job his executives are doing. - Executives constantly crowing about how fast we are growing revenue and how great the company is, but budget cuts, layoffs and closing departments says either they are lying, or simply taking all profit out of the company - Focus on onboarding new clients 'at any cost' and cutting back on service for existing clients - Teams are over worked, unappreciated, regularly expected to work overtime, and not paid for overtime. Resources are removed from teams, and then teams blamed when issues are dropped. - Executive management literally changes company priorities and direction every few weeks - no consistency or long term planning. - US employees paid 2 to 3 times Canadian employees and work remotely (if at all) - Executives acknowledge pay at Hyperwallet is below industry standards and that morale is low - and then go on to say that people are not working hard enough and not taking on enough responsibilities - Company is 'top heavy' with too many executives and countless VPs - Much gossip about company simply being 'fluffed up' to be sold

Pros

I have worked at F500 companies that are not as clear on their direction and vision you will find in Hyperwallet. From the top down, people sincerely care about their co-workers and treat each other like family. The technical agility of Hyperwallet blows me away. It is a great place to work if you are someone who likes to actually be able to make a difference. People who do not put the customer first, do not take responsibility for their work, and are not dedicated to contributing to the corporate culture in a positive way do not last long here. There is no room for excuses or clock punching here. Because it is a fast-paced, growing company interested in being the gold standard, there are opportunities to learn a wider scope of work than just your discrete business area. Business leaders open the door to educate staff, promote learning and career growth on all levels.

Cons

You will find that there are not always templates to utilize or workflow processes in place that clearly define internal roles. People are used to just getting the job done. These things are being put in place as the structure of the company continues to grow. The technology is complex and takes at least 6 months to learn and is constantly changing.
