Pros
Great training, ability to work from home and colleagues.
Cons
After working there for 20 years, I can honestly say in the last 15 years I have felt the company has changed to where you are just another number. There are no raises, little bonus and most people are absolutely miserable. The culture has become work as little as possible and wait to be laid off. When I started with the company if you were a top performer you could get a 3-5% raise and a 15-21% bonus with average performers getting a smaller raise and 8-12% bonus. Now only the top 5% get little to no raise and 3-5% bonus. Everyone else gets nothing. They also have a mandatory bell curve for performance ratings which ensures on 1 -2 people (5%) get a bonus or raise. It is no surprise that companies with great cultures like Google, Apple, and others have increased their stock while IBM hasn't changed much over the last 15 years. The bottom line is management doesn't care about the employees and the employees know it and therefore don't care about the company or its performance. ABSOLUTE MUST: If you are about to take a job with IBM, you need to negotiate the highest salary possible because this will be your salary for the next 5-10 years.
