Pros
- you bond with coworkers over shared trauma - if you are looking for a kick in the pants to go to therapy, look no further
Cons
where to begin. all management drink the kool aid that IBM is the best thing since sliced bread, when in fact the products don't work and the service to their customers is horrible. multiple managers had said very sexist and demeaning things to me, including that I am "going no where in life" and "just wake up every day with no plan." and these are the things I am allowed to write on the internet. I worked there for 1.5 years and every day it got worse than the last. There is no career development, VERY high turnover, and no respect from upper management. PLUS if you thinking of taking this job just for the name on your resume - stop right there. IBM has little to no credibility in the market anymore - when I was looking for a new job on several occasions I told the interviewer I worked at IBM and they said "I'm sorry." Conversely, employees who got laid off were regularly congratulated by peers. Run don't walk away from this company and find a place that actually respects you!
