Pros
Talented coworkers especially project management, design, content, UX; some program managers Some flexibility to work from home was nice Nice office
Cons
I left a review here a while ago but it looks like it’s been deleted. Your direct management won’t generally have time for you and the managers who do have time to develop their staff have all been laid off especially in ICF next. The leadership ran it into the ground a year ago; better leadership now, but they are still recovering from those problems. Client management and business management didn’t accurately predict estimates or partner well enough with other teams who were actually doing the work to get accurate information for RFPs. Resulted in needing to adjust contracts and add more time or work 60 hrs and only bill 40. Leadership will always side with client. My manager only met with me once or twice a year the entire time I was there. Not good training or development internally except for your own direct team; some budget for training but you won’t have time. ICF next was already doing layoffs before the pandemic hit because they had mismanaged some projects and gone over budget / over scope. Lost a lot of big clients and contracts in December and January 2020 before the pandemic even hit. Then lost work from travel and hospitality related clients after the pandemic in April. They’ll try to blame the layoffs on the pandemic when in fact it was already starting to fall apart months before then. They did try to find work for people but if you’re not billable, you’re out of there. They did try to be understanding during the pandemic and did allow people to work from home and did try to have rolling layoffs and furloughs to extend peoples time to stay on benefits, but they’ve depleted almost their entire organization in ICF next. Run away; don’t go there. Ask why they laid off most of ICFNext. Vacation and sick leave or combine it’s a complete joke. Healthcare benefits or just average. Pay is average.
