Pros
I work in the Climate Change group, on projects that have important social impact and that are also interesting intellectually. The team is highly motivated and enthusiastic about the work. There are periods of intense work, balanced with periods of light work; overall the work-life balance is very good for a consulting firm. Management is willing to give a lot of responsibility to younger staff, encouraging them to voice ideas for solutions, and also provides good mentoring. Many of the senior staff started as junior staff, a testament to growth opportunities and staff retention. Management style is basically: show you do good work, and we'll be flexible to accommodate work schedules, leaves, relocations.
Cons
Compensation is just ok. Not bad, but most people here could make better money elsewhere. Seems like they stay b/c they like the people and/or the work.
