Pros
Depending on the team or LOB, junior staff are given higher-level responsibilities early on. I had greater responsibilities than most of my peers at other consulting firms.
Cons
1) Long hours, and often working for free. 2) Little ability to work on projects with other groups. 3) Slow promotion schedule. 4) Lack of mentoring. Managers are overwhelmed and unable to take on any additional time to mentor junior staff/aspiring project managers. The junior staff liaisons to senior management are a joke - nothing gets accomplished. 5) It's probably stress, but everyone was uptight. Not an interesting work environment.
