Pros
There are many great skilled and talented employees on this project. Compared to the government agency I came from, it seems clear that ICF is able to pay for the right person to be on the bus or invite the wrong person to keep seeking other gainful employment. I've only been here for three weeks but their onboarding process is much more automated and streamlined than government work.
Cons
Like every organization, there are some office politics, but they do not appear to be pervasive. More difficult for me is the idea that I can't even set Chrome to be my default search engine without submitting a "help ticket" to CIT (computer tech support), but it is understandable given the broad array of world leading industries ICF is involved in the the nature of intellectual property that could be gained if the laptops ICF issues were not secure. Finally, the insurance benefits cost is high compared to what I am used to (almost 3 times as much in premiums), but again, I came from government and lower premiums is often a hallmark of government work.
