Pros
interesting, integrated work on many different topics. Clients went to ICF to have them help solve problems that didn't always have obvious answers and required real multi-disciplinary approaches. I worked with energy specialists, housing program experts, climate change folks, etc. on a wide variety of projects.
Cons
The story of ICF and why we were there got increasing lost as the company doubled in size since 2007. Could be a function of size or the publicly traded company, but either way, the numbers became what mattered most, despite some of the great efforts of my more immediate leadership.
