Pros
I worked at a mid/ senior kind of level position as part of the IT group and it was a pretty decent organization and work life balance is also fine at least for me in the IT group. It is a easy to work organization and if in case you have a reporting manager from oversees which is the case in many situations.. it is either a plus or a minus... it depends on the kind of manager you get... predominantly you end up getting a Irish manager or somebody from UK or US which can be a bit of advantage as well as a disadvantage.. it differs on case to case basis... it depends though. let me be constructive in review... I was not lucky in that way though... Good Organization for youngsters who are starting their career or in the early stages of their career.... less than 5 years experience.... anybody with 8+ / 10+ and above please avoid this organization as you will not be required for long....
Cons
The organization is pretty lagging in adopting the latest IT trends and the work is not very challenging. For seniors who are looking for a long relationship with ICON, I wouldn't suggest as it will be a bit disappointing after a year or two as they try to trim down the senior folks especially from IT as their core business is not IT. The downsizing is predominantly done for the IT groups based out of US for the last couple of years and recently, they have started targeting the India based IT folks too... so the only advise from me is if you have accumulated a lot of experience in IT and you have been offered a position in ICON, please be aware that your association with ICON should be planned for a max of 2 years else you will end up in crossroads as they can put you in a position to leave any time..... Also, the options to move around in IT is very restricted and you do not have much options if you fall in a mid/ senior cadre... all the above comments of mine are based on my experience after being part of the IT group and I have tried be as much impartial in my judgement and perception about ICON....
