Pros
The people I directly worked with were wonderful and made the job manageable.
Cons
The unofficial company motto was "blood, sweat, and tears" and that couldn't be farther from the truth. During my time there, Oracle was getting a huge upgrade so that involved daily trainings/testing from 7 AM - 11 AM; on top of that I was expected to work my usual 8 hours. It was very common to work 12+ hour days without overtime. Everything was tribal knowledge and none of the processes were standardized. My work/life balance was terrible and I often felt overwhelmed on the job. I had experience in my role yet I was discouraged in making suggestions for process improvements. On top of that, after a year of long hours and working my tail off, I received a 1.5% raise. For a medical device company, the insurance wasn't the best with a high deductable plan.
