Pros

Originally get opportunity for personal growth. Over last year there has been decline in personal career development. They have gone public and will be transitioning to VOYA. Since the transition there have been increased bonuses, but a rearrangement of executives,

Cons

Large number of outsourcing basic and lower level jobs. This often causes you to research and have more contacts in order to get something done correctly. Not a huge issue for seasoned employees, but unless you have personal contacts you are often stuck escalating issues or working long frustrating hours to correct issues. Reactive and not proactive. Often short sited and last to contribute funds to service. Pay is low compared to other companies.

Horizontal culture, very European with manageable work life balance.

Cons

Limited growth opportunities, endless layers of bureaucracy, disconnected senior management, and lack of a meritocracy are the key cons.
