Pros
IRIS is a good company for a graduate looking to get a foot in the door for a sales job. Not bad in terms of pay and possible earnings. Biggest pro about the place is by far the employees themselves, great bunch of people.
Cons
Recent change in management of the SME division has seen a definite focus on time spent on the phone, instilling a call centre-like office. As a graduate 'sales' role, note you will spend considerable time on an automated phone list full of records of customers who simply dont and have never used an IRIS product. The recent haemorrhaging of employee's both old and new goes to show the recent change and its affects. Unrealistic progression - very very little room for movement, IRIS claim there is an opportunity to progress - but this is a pipe dream for 90% of us. Outdated management style, poor focus on employee satisfaction. Consensus on the sales floor is that we are all 'replaceable', and little focus on our satisfaction within the office. Frequently being told what to do with no reasoning, and many many instances of simply being treated like a school kid. given we are all graduates here, this sort of treatment is certainly the wrong way to manage, and the wrong way to inspire employees.
