The company has a constant message that we want you to grow and drive for success to reach your full potential. "We believe in our talent pipeline".... ETC. However they aren't taking the time to actually develop employees with potential. Having been with the company for a few years now, I can say first hand that I had little to no direction from leadership, and when I expressed interest in development several times over the past two years, I was ignored, manly because no one in leadership cared what I did as long as my numbers were met. Our particular division is not growing. Now that I'm attempting to take my development into my own hands I'm being told "Oh well you weren't on some secret list of ppl to develop. So we are going to have to ask you to sit back for a year so we can decide how to develop you." All the while I've only actually been provided with 1 formal review where a manager speaks to me in the entire 3 years. I have no path forward in my current role, and while there is a tuition reimbursement program, unless you are on some secret list, they refuse to acknowledge your potential.
