Pros

🤣.. it's a farce what delivery drivers must do.

Cons

Unrealistic standards: 2 minutes window for each delivery- wtf!?! Some customers live in flats and have many trays/crates. It can require multiple trips. It does NOT help when Iceland, for environmental reasons, do not provide bags for the item. This prolongs and delays the handover. It is also NOT assisted by store management having a casual attitude to cut off time to finalise a delivery slot like 10-12 delivery slot, and they will not be ready until 1030. (There's always a delay for each delivery slot which should be: 10-12, 1230-1430, 1430-1630, 17-19..🤦 I don't know if there's earlier or later slots). There's something called a loading report and pit stop that should help you to load up and which should be done when the orders are finalised.. but if it is not ready until 1030 for example, you must load up BEFORE and it messes up the setup/layout of your van and creates problems. This is not what is taught in the tutorial videos. I should be finished by 19:00/7pm.. but unfortunately I have repeatedly finished way later (I take some of that on me). I have been at Kingsbury for about over a month. THEY KNOW IT'S HARD. Due to that reason, they still haven't given me my own uniform as I think that they think that the role has a high turnover which now I can appreciate why now. The satnav is by Google. It has not been adapted for the vans they use and there are narrow roads. There also may be a dead end which it cannot be anticipated until too late: you could get in trouble. It seems to me that the Kingsbury branch has an overlapping catchment area with other stores (that may or may not have their own delivery service). I concede that I have messed up customer orders by missing part of their orders.. but if information is unclear and there's a lack of assistance from management, it will lead to frustration from the delivery driver and more importantly for customers.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear it has been a challenging start. We know how demanding the role can be, and your feedback on delivery timings, training and support is valuable. This is not the experience we aim to provide. We would encourage you to speak directly with your Store Manager or Area Manager so your concerns can be reviewed and support put in place.
