Pros
- After 85% of the team is gone there will be plenty of empty chairs for you to fill. Sorry, I mean Idera offers lots of opportunity for advancement. - They all seem nice enough, just don't look behind the curtain because you probably won't like that part. - Lots of cool sister companies
Cons
Let's be clear about the game plan here or what is repeatedly referred to as "the Idera model". They want to provide good enough software with the absolute most basic level of customer support possible. When you're company is acquired by Idera they immediately begin the cost cutting exercise. Can't fault them for that, but you probably won't like their approach. They set out to cull the employee base, but they don't lay most people off immediately unless local laws dictate ethical dismissal practice. They go through the process of icing you out slowly over a couple months to stoke fear and uncertainty so that you'll go get another job and they can avoid severance and unemployment costs. The Idera Model doesn't value the people that work there it serves only to create value for a handful of executives and shareholders. Randy Jacops tells you on day 1 that if they can hire someone from Upwork to do your job for $3/ hr that's what they're going to do. Believe him. You'll have to decide for yourself if the mystical Idera model will reward your hard work and effort over time. (Spoiler, it won't unless your name is Randy Jacops or a shareholder of Idera)
