Pros

I was a co-worker of the "Utterly Terrible" reviewer, and I'd like to offer another perspective as I disagreed with some parts of that review. I'm not in management or anything, just commenting to offer a more balanced perspective. I'm not sure what the part about regular hours being from 11 to 7 or 8 was about. Hours were the most flexible I'd ever had at a job. The only thing I've been told about hours is to try to be available by 10am so we could schedule meetings, but there's no restriction on coming in early and leaving early if you're into that. Also, this job was one of the two most respectful of my time I'd ever had. I'd never been asked to work late or work on a weekend, which came up regularly at previous jobs. I'd never once felt that I'd been condescended to. When I'd had concerns, my manager had listened respectfully and given me a thoughtful reply. I had on occasion had disagreements with management about where I should be putting my efforts. Sometimes we changed direction based on my feedback, and other times we've proceeded with the original plan, but I always felt like my feedback was valued and considered. I strongly disagree about finger-pointing, no one taking responsibility. I made it a point to try to take responsibility and not point fingers, and I see the same from my colleagues. The Boalsburg team in particular is a high-trust team, but I've had similarly positive experiences when working with other branches. One other pro is that they offer a hefty amount of PTO per year.

Cons

There had been challenges dealing with the engineering aspects. Some of the code we dealt with was written by contractors, and it's not up to the standards I strive for. But I see the tide turning on this- there was recently a new hire into a senior management for engineering position, and she is identifying these issues with our engineering process and working to turn them around. Regarding the engineering, I see this as a rebuilding time for the company. There's a lot of interest in improving the engineering processes, especially from the new senior management engineering hire. If you have experience in improving engineering processes and/or leadership, or if you want to work at a place that needs someone who is willing to step up and learn to be an engineering leader, this is a place where you can make a name for yourself, and you will be supported. One other con is that they do not offer time off for paternity leave, though this is offset somewhat by the generous PTO that every employee gets.

Pros

The pay was great and I could pay my bills

Cons

This job is so unprofessional, you train for 2 or 3 days at the most then they throw you out on the floor. You can’t make mistakes or they will move to another DS without training you to handle the DS. Then if they feel like they don’t want to work in sales, they will push you to service where the standards are way worse than sales. After your 90 days are up they will fire and come up with anything to let you go. I worked my whole pregnancy with this company, got up on days I was very sick and still did my job. They make it seem like you’re the issue when it’s the unprofessionalism in the company.
