Pros
I honestly fell into a good situation at InMotion moving into a development team that was growing as I was getting out of college. I've done a great amount of learning with the company and, better yet, I've been allowed to do that learning. The culture is good here as well with time given to departments for outside of work activities. Generally its just a friendly environment of people that can work together to get things done. Casual dress code helps and free lunch on Tuesdays is always a good thing. There are some seriously talented people here, and I honestly think a fair number of them don't even know it sometimes. I've seen a massive amount of technological growth and increased professional maturity across many departments while I've been here and it doesn't give any signs of stopping either. There are support reps of all tiers that genuinely care about customers too and try to do whatever they can to help them as efficiently as possible. Growth while I've been with the company has been great both in terms of our customer base and our employees. This certainly makes it seem like a stable place to stay. Given the desire and drive to succeed, InMotion will give you somewhere to grow. Those that take initiative are well rewarded both financially and meritoriously when the time is appropriate.
Cons
There are some cross departmental disconnects at times and it can be frustrating. Even more so since the portion of the company that is driving most of the new direction is separated a few thousand miles where that stuff is being put in place. I'm not saying its always bad, but it does present some rather unique challenges at times. The last bit of bad I have to add is in relation to if I think this is a place to stay for a long time, and I'm not even sure if its a bad thing. There are some individuals that have been with the company since nearly its inception and I think for the most part they are enjoying it and happy to stay. I've also read a number of reviews on this site about others complaining about no growth path from certain positions. While I can say that there is a good path for growth for individuals in a general sense, there are times and paths that can hit a glass ceiling rather quickly. I think its in part to the company being rather small and only so many available positions past a certain level. Either way it is something to be considered.
