As small hospitals are "taken over", there seems to be a "play nice" period followed by a slow but sure termination of experienced staff with the explanation being "you are not the best person to take us in the direction we want to go" and new staff with less experience is brought in. Staff and physicians are treated with a total lack of dignity and respect in spite of years of loyalty and dedication to patient care. Money is now the bottom line.
