Pros
Interesting people Can make a lot of money if you are in sales Easy to get away with breaking a lot of rules depending on what kind of person you are, how easily you can manipulate your manager or how buddy-buddy you are with the ceo
Cons
The way some people are able to become and remain managers defies all sense of logic. So many managers are completely incompetent, petty, catty, unprofessional or downright scary. Most bizarre culture I've ever worked in. The people range from pearl clutching two-faced church goers to overgrown frat boys to insecure catty females stuck in high school to socially inept loner types with a few decent to wonderful people thrown in the mix. Very gossipy environment with stranger-than-fiction tales running rampant. I believe the CEO allows this behavior because it all seems deeply woven within the fabric of the company. CEO has favorites who can do whatever they want, including getting other people fired and being a generally evil person CEO spends way too much money on bells and whistles for trade shows at the expense of employers' salaries, resulting in wage cuts Any potentionally meaningful or enjoyable work is dampened by lack of communication between departments, ineffectual management, and a lack of a cohesive overall goal.
