Pros
Once they got bought out by a big corporation they sold their soul. Prior to that it was a decent company to work for.
Cons
Being laid off without any explanation was frustrating, especially given the level of responsibility and impact I had on the analytics team. The decision reflected poor leadership rather than performance. After I left, the team struggled and the rest of my colleagues were laid off as they struggled with the quantity, quality and complexity of the work I performed. Which confirmed that management had little understanding of the function they were dismantling. In hindsight, the layoff was a blessing in disguise. Following the acquisition, leadership decisions steadily eroded morale and direction, and I found myself increasingly unhappy and vocal about it. Leaving allowed me to move into work that is far more fulfilling and aligned with my skills, while reinforcing how damaging ineffective management can be to otherwise strong teams.
