Pros

As a current employee at InquisIT, I can say that my experience with the company has been overwhelmingly positive. One of the comments about InquisIT on Glassdoor mentions that they are "in it for the right reasons", and I absolutely agree with that assessment. The guys running the place want to see you succeed, and really do acknowledge hard work. Going out to happy hour or a team lunch in celebration of a new cert or major accomplishment is not an uncommon occurrence. Management has been nothing but transparent to all employees here, and emphasizes open communication, which I respect quite a bit. This is not the "suggestion box" type of "open communication" either. Every email and form sent gets read, and similarly gets a response, which I feel is really important (yet often overlooked) by other companies. I have tested this a handful of times with my direct supervisor, and appreciate having an ear to voice concerns or to throw ideas around with at odd hours. Additionally, I have never felt "left in the dark" by anyone in management regarding my future, and have never felt misled or strung along by anyone above me. InquisIT is not a "top-heavy" organization, and I don't feel smothered by office politics. Hard work is recognized and respected by all levels, and I feel like this is rooted in the fact that management "gets" it. They are regular hard-working guys like the rest of us. Additionally, I like that management has a very real interest in making sure everyone's free time is honored and respected. I don't think there has been a time where I have had to work on a Saturday, and it wasn't acknowledged in some form or met with praise.

Cons

Nothing I can think of.

Pros

Kept a variety of healthy snack options stocked in the office kitchen and some other good perks.

Cons

There is a lot to say about this company, from the offensive and ignorant language thrown around, to the numerous surprise firings of really good employees. But I believe the most significant con to working at InquisIT was the culture that glamorized overworking. Myself and my department worked almost every day of the week almost every week, through entire weekends, family holidays, you name it. The idea of having a 40 hour work week here was laughed at. Unfortunately, we were never adequately compensated for the amount of work we put in. There were vague promises that money and promotions would come at some distant point in the future, but I never saw any of that come to fruition. These promises kept a lot of people motivated and convinced that the long hours would all be worth it some day. Again, I never witnessed this happen anywhere in the company, and it seemed to me that very little growth occurred in my time there. Instead there was increasing pressure and unrealistic expectations placed on myself and my team, which is the reason I ultimately left the company. I wanted to post this review to encourage anyone considering employment here to first ask them about your hours, expectations, and work-life balance before you make your decision, particularly if you are working in their headquarters office.
