Pros

Like anything, you'll get what you put into this job. If you're looking for a place where you can work hard, rise up quickly, and have your ideas heard--you're in a good spot. You have the opportunity to set processes and have a huge impact--but you've got to be willing to do the work. In regards to the negative reviews--I think a lot of people are intrigued by the start-up idea as a "cool culture", "stock options that could make you rich", and beer on tap; and those things definitely exist. But to truly to succeed here or any start-up you've got to be willing to work your butt off to make stuff work (including maybe teaching yourself how to do a lot of stuff). If you're willing to do that then the sky is the limit at Insightpool. As others have mentioned, this isn't your typical 9-5, but with the long hours comes a lot of flexibility--working from home, getting in at 10am and leaving later, etc. Everyone is trusted as an adult to get their work done and do it well, so you won't see much micro-managing. Training isn't always very deep, but if you have a go-getter attitude you'll learn as you go and everyone is always willing to help. The people at Insightpool are one of the greatest gifts and where I've found some of my best friends. Truly an amazing culture of people. The company has let some of them go or others have gone on their own, but it's a greater testament that many of us have remained great friends with them even if day to day circumstances have changed. Access to senior management is also a huge plus. If you're bold enough to ask questions and share ideas, you'll soon become relied on by your own boss and be given immense opportunity to grow. You'll also never get too bored--things change around here a lot and quickly, so you need to be willing to adapt and see the positive in those changes.

Cons

Compensation is probably the hardest aspect. At the end of the day money matters and is a motivator for anyone--especially if you work heavy hours and don't always feel like your work is noticed. An overall boost in base salaries in accordance to work load vs industry standard is needed. Again, change is constant here. You'll say bye to great friends and smart co-workers, company vision evolves to the market--but that's business. Sales is hard place to be, but if you've got a marketing mindset and enterprise experience you'll be set.

Pros

The main reason I enjoyed my time at Insightpool was the people - everyone's incredibly motivated, kind, and passionate about the company. It is a great working environment that has very challenging work while maintaining a (mostly) stress-free and fun atmosphere. The hectic schedule and ever-changing responsibilities that come with a startup may be a turn off to some. However, it was a perfect fit for me as everything felt so much less mundane and way more exciting than a standard job.

Cons

Atlanta traffic is really bad, that's really the only negative I have

Pros

My coworkers - The company is filled with intelligent, creative, and hardworking people. It's apparent from Day 1, that the people who are successful here work hard for themselves (they are naturally driven), for their team (they build others up, and they're quick to offer help), and for the company (they know they are a part of building something big). Access to upper management - I personally know and have spent time with everyone in the company regardless of their title. Company Culture - We make it a priority to get to know each other. There's at least one social event a month. Everyone is inclusive. We celebrate wins - These could be big celebrations or they could be small celebrations. They could be company celebrations or they could be individual celebrations. They could be career related celebrations (for example - workiversaries) or just general life celebrations (birthdays, bridal showers, etc.). If you're motivated by awards and rewards, you'll really enjoy this aspect of the company.

Cons

You will not be happy here: if you're driven mostly by money, if you're uncomfortable with change, or if you expect 9-5 hours. There are days when half of the company is at the office past 7. But there are also days when most of the company leaves before 5. It just depends. We're also making transitions constantly. Every two weeks there's a new face in the office or a new process put in place or a new role responsibility, etc. Some people thrive off of change, and some people really dislike it. You just have to know what type of person you are, and then take this into consideration when applying here.
