Pros
Flexiblity, a good place to get started in the insurance business, many product offerings, niche opportunities, work with a few good people from time to time, trips as awards for attaining sales goals
Cons
Very competitive marketplace, too easy for anyone to become an agent and some of these folks ruin it for those who truley want a career. Favoritism and politics are played, more interested in promoting who they like than what is best for the company. Too much overhead in upper management (expensive salaries and benefits) instead of taking care of their agents. Difficult in some areas to make a good income.
