Pros

remote work home office reimbursement wifi reimbursement long training

Cons

pto never gets approved no matter how far in advance you ask weird work hours - always have to work at least one weekend day (i worked tues-saturday 10am-7pm) 3 different programs that track all the work you do the role I interviewed for was not the work I did holiday work little room for growth all work tasks are timed management has favorites this depends on the person but they are always asking ppl to work extra hours extremely high turnover rate I would see someone leave once a month when i was offered the role I was told to sign the offer within 24 hours - managed to extend for 4 days this role is hourly so all the fun benefits other reviews are talking about dont apply to you the system they work in allows ppl to send tasks to one another so I had some shady coworkers that would send me their work sometimes the fact you can get citations at a corporate job 😭

Pros

Fun going out and talking to people. You will interact with people everyday. You control how much you get paid. Lots of flexibility in the time between accepting an order and traveling to the store and beginning to shop. It isn't pedal to the metal to get to the store like DoorDash is. You can also cancel batches after accepting as long as you keep your rate under 15%. This is different from DoorDash where your rankings will suffer if g.t. 2% cancellation rate.

Cons

There's a learning curve and it takes a while to learn each chain of stores' items. Once you become proficient at one store, the algorithm will lowball your offers relative to other less-experienced Instacart shoppers. Overall, Instacart shoppers likely get paid similar or less than the store's regular employees.
