Pros

I received a water bottle when I joined the company.

Cons

Instawork is not concerned with its employees' wellbeing, and it shows. Employees' insurance is terrible for those living outside of SF. Instawork also does not offer a 401K match. The company's leadership keeps promising they are "working on it" for years but seems more interested in discussing their options and crypto-currency investments than providing essential benefits to everyone. There is no other investment in most employees, including offering zero tools for professional development (except for "leadership," which seems to receive a nice amount of trips and benefits). There are no attempts to build an authentic culture of teamwork, support, or empathy. I never worked in a more isolated and siloed environment. Instawork's weak and incompetent leaders are primarily interested in preserving their status and self-promoting. They seem to aim to squeeze as much as possible from lower-level employees (usually people of color or non-American) before they churn out. In more than one case, employees worked until they got very sick and then left. Similarly, I also know of several instances where employees received "promotions," which included longer hours but no additional pay. Leadership does not seem to care, as long as the money keeps coming in and they don't hear complaints (which is easy to achieve when you never talk to lower-level employees directly). Since Instawork does not have an HR team, no one is actively working to ensure everyone is treated fairly and create a company culture or prevent managers from making highly inappropriate comments and acting discriminatory. I do not recommend working in Instawork if you are a person of color, LGBTQ, a woman, or are a member of any other minority group. I have never experienced as many micro-aggressions as I had since joining. I have also never seen so many good, hard-working employees go unrewarded and even earn a reputation as "difficult" while doing their best.

Pros

You get to spend a lot of time dancing around like a monkey for these guys. And if you like monkeys, I guess that's a pro

Cons

There are app allows you to do absurd things. Because they don't have faith in people. And then they discriminate against you in ways which is federally illegal. But they don't care, because you'll continue to talk to AI. And when AI doesn't know what to say, it just starts repeating itself like a broken record. This app it needs updated
