This company is lost. The newly hired sales VP has no idea what he is doing. He spends most of his time commenting on LinkedIn posts and regurgitating trendy sales trends into new company sales motions. When he is not on LinkedIn he is manipulating metrics to make it seem like he is productive in front of the CEO. Sales management spends more time building slide decks and looking at sales metrics than they provide coaching. They care much more about how they look in front of senior management than they care about the sales reps on the team. Because of this, the turnover within the sales organization is insane. Sales leadership is constantly moving the goal post when it comes to expectations. Which creates a culture where sales reps are constantly struggling and being told contradictions. The culture is awful. Most sales reps are concerned about job security which fosters an environment where everyone is violating the rules of engagement to try and get ahead. Sales management also has clear favoritism where they often overlook violations of ROE because they favor certain reps. They also redistribute accounts and leads to reps they like. It is near impossible to out preform quota expectations unless you play office politics and get on your managers good side. Lastly if the disfunction of the sales organization doesn't steer you away. The company business model only works in adverse employment climates. When unemployment is low businesses don't need Instawork. This creates a difficult sales cycle where only a small minority of account executives hit quota in consecutive months. Less then 10% of sales reps hit quota on a monthly basis.
